Raven

Raven is a DC Comics superhero created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. She first appeared in DC Comics Presents #26 (1980) and was a central figure in the acclaimed New Teen Titans series that launched the same year.

Raven is the half-human, half-demon daughter of the human woman Arella and the interdimensional demon Trigon. Raised in the peaceful dimension of Azarath, she was trained by the monks there to suppress her emotions and control the dark powers inherited from her father. When Trigon threatened Earth, Raven sought out the Teen Titans for help, assembling the team that would become one of DC's most popular.

Her abilities include empathic healing, astral projection, teleportation through shadows, and manipulation of dark energy via her "Soul Self." She must constantly guard against her father's corrupting influence, as strong emotions risk unleashing Trigon's power through her. This internal struggle between her compassionate nature and her demonic heritage is the defining tension of the character.

Raven has been a core member of the Teen Titans across multiple eras and is one of the team's most recognizable members, particularly through the Teen Titans animated series.
