Grace

Grace is the protagonist of the City of Dragons graphic novel series. A mixed-race girl with a Chinese American father and a white mother, she moves from the United States to Hong Kong with her mother and stepfather following her father's death. On a school trip she is given a mysterious gem-like egg that hatches into a baby dragon, pulling her and her new friends into a hidden world of dragons and ancient legends. Across the series she wrestles with grief, friendship, and self-acceptance while searching for the courage her father always believed she had.
