He attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, where he collaborated with Stephen Bissette on various projects, including Bizarre Adventures and Swamp Thing. Totleben is particularly recognized for his artwork on Alan Moore's Miracleman, along with contributions to titles such as 1963, Vermillion, and The Dreaming.
