Biography
American cartoonist who created the Dick Tracy newspaper comic strip in 1931 for the Chicago Tribune Syndicate and drew it for 46 years until retiring in 1977. Known for his stylized villain designs and crime-procedural storytelling, he received the Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society.
