Young Romance (1947)
Created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby for Prize Comics in 1947, Young Romance is widely recognized as the first romance comic. It ran 124 issues under Prize before DC acquired it in 1963, publishing an additional 84 issues. The series targeted adult readers with realistic relationship drama and spawned an entire genre.
