A DC superhero who shares the Hawkgirl legacy with predecessors Shiera Hall and Shayera Hol. Created by James Robinson, David S. Goyer, and Scott Benefiel for JSA: Secret Files and Origins #1 in 1999. Kendra Saunders is a Hispanic-American descendant of an ancient bloodline carrying memories of past lives across reincarnated warriors connected to the alien Nth metal. Her gear is forged from that metal, granting her flight through artificial wings, enhanced strength and durability, and resistance to magic. She has served with the Justice Society, Justice League, and Birds of Prey, often paired with Hawkman as part of one of the longest-running romances in DC's mythology.
