Bob Bolling
Biography
American cartoonist born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1928, best known for creating the Little Archie series at Archie Comics, where he worked beginning in 1954. Bolling designed the Archie cast as elementary school children and created beloved recurring characters including Ambrose Pipps and the villain Mad Doctor Doom. His stories spanned comedy, adventure, and science fiction, and were noted for their lush backgrounds and precise settings. He is frequently cited as a major influence by Love and Rockets creators Jaime and Gilbert Hernandez.
