Description
Radiant Black is a superhero series from writer Kyle Higgins and artist Marcelo Costa, published by Image Comics as the flagship of the shared Massive-Verse. Its lead is Nathan Burnett, a thirtysomething aspiring novelist who moves back to his hometown of Lockport while buried in debt and short on prospects. When Nathan finds the Radiant, a cosmic artifact of unknown origin, he gains the power to transform into a costumed hero. The book pairs grounded, millennial anxieties about money, work, and adulthood with bright, kinetic action inspired by tokusatsu and Power Rangers. Alongside Nathan stands his best friend Marshall Ward, and the cast widens to include other Radiants in colors such as Red, Pink, and Yellow. As the story moves toward Chicago and the sprawling Catalyst War, it threads into the larger Massive-Verse built around the Supermassive crossovers.
