Revival (2012)

Revival is a rural noir series from writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton set in the small Wisconsin town of Wausau. When the recently deceased spontaneously rise -- not as shambling zombies but as near-normal people called revivers who still think, feel, and bleed -- the town is placed under quarantine and Officer Dana Cypress is tasked with investigating the chaos. The series weaves crime procedural plotting through small-town secrets, government conspiracy, and the very human grief of confronting loved ones who should have stayed gone. It ran for 47 issues between 2012 and 2017.
