Jughead Jones

Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III is an Archie Comics character created by John L. Goldwater, Bob Montana, and Vic Bloom. He first appeared in Pep Comics #22 (1941) as Archie Andrews' best friend.

Jughead is defined by his insatiable appetite, sardonic wit, and trademark crown-shaped beanie hat. He is largely indifferent to the romantic pursuits that consume the rest of the Riverdale gang, preferring food and his dog Hot Dog to the complications of dating. His laid-back attitude and sharp observations make him a natural foil to Archie's earnest clumsiness.

Jughead has starred in multiple solo series over the decades. Chip Zdarsky's 2015 Jughead relaunch received particular acclaim for its humor and characterization. He remains one of the most enduringly popular characters in the Archie Comics lineup.
