Donald Duck
Description
Donald Fauntleroy Duck is a Disney cartoon character created by Walt Disney Productions. He first appeared in the 1934 animated short The Wise Little Hen and quickly became one of the most popular characters in the Disney stable.
In comics, Donald debuted in the Silly Symphony newspaper strip in 1934 before receiving his own daily strip in 1938. Carl Barks began writing and drawing Donald Duck comic book stories for Western Publishing in 1942, establishing the character's extended world including the city of Duckburg, his uncle Scrooge McDuck, nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and a large supporting cast.
Donald is characterized by his short temper, bad luck, and determination in the face of constant setbacks. He has appeared in more comic book stories than almost any other character in the medium, with artists and writers across dozens of countries contributing new material for over eight decades.
