Mickey Mouse
Description
Mickey Mouse is a Disney cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He debuted in the 1928 animated short Steamboat Willie and became the mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
Mickey's comic strip, drawn initially by Iwerks and then by Floyd Gottfredson, began in 1930 and ran daily for over 45 years. Gottfredson's adventure-oriented stories established Mickey as a resourceful, brave protagonist far removed from his animated comedy persona. Italian and Scandinavian publishers have produced thousands of additional Mickey Mouse comic stories, making him one of the most published characters in comics history.
In comics, Mickey typically operates as an amateur detective and adventurer in the fictional city of Mouseton, often aided by his friend Goofy and his dog Pluto, while contending with recurring villains like the Phantom Blot and Peg-Leg Pete.
