Mort Walker

Biography

Mort Walker was an American comic strip artist and writer who created the Beetle Bailey strip for King Features Syndicate in 1950. He co-created Hi and Lois with Dik Browne in 1954, and his cartooning career began as a child when he sold his first cartoon at age 12. He received the Reuben Award in 1953 and founded the Museum of Cartoon Art in 1974.
