Biography
Kazuhiko Shimamoto is a Japanese manga artist born in 1961 in Hokkaido. He debuted in 1982 in Weekly Shōnen Sunday while studying at Osaka University of Arts and is best known for Blazing Transfer Student (1983–1985), later adapted as an anime OVA by Gainax. His autobiographical series Aoi Honō, based on his college years in Osaka, was adapted as a live-action television drama.
