Biography
Japanese manga artist and animator born in Ōta, Tokyo. He debuted in 1979 with Crusher Joe, a science fiction series, and later joined Studio Nue as a character and mechanical designer on projects including Dirty Pair. Over a career spanning more than three decades he created series including Sasuga no Sarutobi, BioHunter, and Gallery Fake, which won the 1996 Shogakukan Manga Award.
