Buddy Scalera
Biography
Buddy Scalera is a comic book writer, editor, photographer, and educator based in New Jersey. He wrote for Marvel Comics on titles including Deadpool, Agent X, X-Men Unlimited, and the all-ages series Tails of the Pet Avengers. His indie work includes Decoy: Storm of the Century for Penny Farthing Press, and self-published titles like Necrotic, 7 Days to Fame, and Bonita & Clyde through After Hours Press.
Scalera authored the Comic Artist's Photo Reference book series for IMPACT Books and the instructional book Creating Comics from Start to Finish. He also produced the Visual Reference for Comic Artists CD-ROM series. He wrote over 100 articles on comics for publications including Wizard and Comics Buyer's Guide, and created the WizardWorld and WizardSchool websites for Wizard Entertainment.
He founded Comic Book School, an educational platform where he hosts workshops and panels at conventions nationwide. Outside comics, Scalera works in pharmaceutical content strategy and digital marketing.
