Son of the Hunter

The 52-page anniversary issue finds Spider-Man slipping further into a primal, instinct-driven state, driven more by spider than man, just as Vladimir Kravinoff arrives in New York with his father Kraven's mission: to hunt and kill Spider-Man. The two clash on the 59th Street Bridge, with Vladimir deploying electric jolts and a fear-inducing dart to press his advantage. Peter is pushed to the edge, nearly drowning, before thoughts of Aunt May and Uncle Ben pull him back. Written and illustrated by Howard Mackie and Tom Lyle. Ben Reilly appears separately, keeping vigil at Aunt May's hospital bedside while avoiding any encounter with Peter.
