Issue #46
Description
Issue 46 comes from the first year of Dupuis's weekly Spirou, cover-dated March 2, 1939. The magazine pairs original Franco-Belgian comics with American newspaper strips adapted for French-speaking readers.
This number marks the French debut of the Superman import, printed under the title Marc, Hercule Moderne. Other features include the bellboy Spirou by Rob-Vel, the humor strip Bibor et Tribar, the serial Tif et Tondu, and Frank Buck's wildlife adventure Ramenez-les vivants. Illustrated text stories, puzzles, and young-reader columns fill the sixteen-page issue.
