Japanese manga artist born May 26, 1937, died April 11, 2019. Born Katsuji Katō, he created Lupin III in 1967, first serialized in Weekly Manga Action, which became the basis for a long-running multimedia franchise including numerous anime series and films. He won the Inkpot Award in 1981.
