Biography
Baron Yoshimoto is a Japanese manga artist who debuted in 1959 and became a foundational artist at Weekly Manga Action upon its launch in 1967. His most celebrated work, the Jyukyoden series, ran from 1970 to 1980. That year he moved to the United States and became the first Japanese artist to draw for Marvel Comics, working with Stan Lee and Jim Shooter. After returning to Japan he divided his output between manga and painting, and in 2019 received the Japan Cartoonist Association's Minister of Education Award.
