Shigeru Mizuki
Biography
Japanese manga artist born in 1922 who lost his left arm during World War II service in Papua New Guinea. He created GeGeGe no Kitaro in 1965, a series that revived public interest in traditional Japanese folklore and yokai. He won the Kodansha Manga Award and the Angoulême International Comics Festival Grand Prix. He died in 2015.
