Avengers Forever (1998)

Avengers Forever is a twelve-issue Marvel Comics maxiseries published from December 1998 to November 1999, written by Kurt Busiek and Roger Stern with art by Carlos Pacheco and Jesus Merino. Seven Avengers plucked from different points in the team's past, present, and future must protect Rick Jones from assassination by Immortus, the Master of Time. To survive, the group forms an uneasy alliance with Kang the Conqueror, one of the Avengers' greatest enemies. The series doubles as both a cosmic adventure spanning the Old West to the End of Time and an in-depth character study of Kang, while reconciling decades of Avengers continuity.
