Jack Kirby
Biography
Jack Kirby (1917 to 1994), born Jacob Kurtzberg, was an American comic book artist and writer known as "The King of Comics." His dynamic art style and explosive visual storytelling set new standards during the Golden and Silver Ages.
With Stan Lee and other collaborators, Kirby co-created the Fantastic Four, Thor, Captain America, the X-Men, the Hulk, Galactus, and the Silver Surfer at Marvel. After leaving Marvel, he moved to DC Comics where he created the Fourth World saga, introducing Darkseid and the New Gods.
Kirby's visual innovations and character designs continue to influence comics and popular culture.
