Description
Jungle Comics was an adventure anthology published by Fiction House from 1940 to 1954, running 163 issues. Its lead feature was Kaanga, a jungle lord carried over from the publisher's Jungle Stories pulp, who held the cover spot across the run alongside his companion Ann Mason.
Every issue gathered a roster of recurring jungle features. Regular characters included Camilla, Wambi the Jungle Boy, Tabu, Captain Terry Thunder, and Fantomah, an early masked jungle heroine introduced by Fletcher Hanks in the second issue.
The lineup stayed remarkably stable for most of the title's life while its page count shrank over the years, from 68 pages down to a standard 36 by the 1950s. It stands among the better known examples of Fiction House's jungle adventure output.
