Liana Kangas
Biography
Liana Kangas is an award-winning freelance comic artist, illustrator, and writer based in Memphis, Tennessee. After working in marketing and IT, they pivoted to full-time freelance art in 2016 and quickly established themselves in the comics industry. Their work includes contributions to the Eisner Award-winning Godzilla 70th Anniversary Anthology and HBO Max's Peabody Award-winning series Fantasmas. Kangas co-created and illustrated the dark comedy TRVE KVLT (IDW), the Hugo Long-Listed sci-fi series Know Your Station (BOOM! Studios), and the fantasy space opera She Said Destroy (Vault Comics). Their franchise work spans Star Trek (IDW), Star Wars Adventures (Dark Horse), and Archie Horror (Archie Comics). They have also illustrated for music industry clients through Z2 Comics, contributing to projects with the RZA, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Blondie. Additional credits include Mariko: Between Worlds (Mad Cave), Seeds of Eden (TKO Studios), and anthologies for Image Comics, 2000 AD, and Oni Press.
