Toren Smith
Biography
Toren Smith was a Canadian manga translator and the founder of Studio Proteus, which he established in 1986 after moving to Japan. For more than two decades Studio Proteus was a leading producer of English-language manga, translating and lettering titles mainly for Dark Horse Comics. Smith co-translated dozens of series across roughly 80,000 pages, including early English editions of Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Blade of the Immortal, and Lone Wolf and Cub.
