WayneTech employee Lisa Newman fled Gotham City for Metropolis attempting to sell a steroid prototype being developed at Wayne Tech. After injecting herself with the steriod while standing in Athena's healing whirlpool the mixture of magic and science turned her into a hideous beast with incredible strength.
