Archie Andrews

Archie Andrews is the main character of Archie Comics, created by John L. Goldwater, Bob Montana, and Vic Bloom. He first appeared in Pep Comics #22 (1941) and has been in continuous publication for over 80 years.

Archie is a red-haired teenager living in the fictional town of Riverdale. He attends Riverdale High School, where he is at the center of a long-running love triangle between the wealthy Veronica Lodge and the girl-next-door Betty Cooper. His circle of friends includes his best pal Jughead Jones, rival Reggie Mantle, and the rest of the Riverdale gang.

The character has been portrayed across a wide range of tones, from lighthearted teen humor in the classic Archie house style to the darker reimagining in Mark Waid and Fiona Staples' 2015 relaunch. Archie Comics has also placed the character in genre settings including horror (Afterlife with Archie), superhero crossovers, and the long-running Archie's Weird Mysteries. He remains the flagship character of Archie Comics Publications.
