Veronica Lodge

Veronica Lodge is an Archie Comics character created by John L. Goldwater, Bob Montana, and Vic Bloom. She first appeared in Pep Comics #26 (1942) as a rival to Betty Cooper for the affections of Archie Andrews.

The daughter of wealthy industrialist Hiram Lodge, Veronica is a fashion-conscious socialite who moved to the small town of Riverdale from a big city. Her privileged upbringing and expensive tastes contrast sharply with the modest backgrounds of her classmates, though she is fiercely loyal to her friends despite her occasional vanity.

Veronica is one half of the Betty-and-Veronica dynamic that has driven Archie Comics storytelling for decades. She has headlined numerous solo titles and shared billing with Betty Cooper in the long-running Betty and Veronica series. The character has been reimagined in various modern takes, including Mark Waid's 2015 Archie relaunch and the Archie Horror line.
