Biography
Dave Berg was an American cartoonist known for nearly five decades of work in MAD magazine. Before joining MAD in 1957 he worked in Will Eisner's studio and for Timely Comics, the forerunner of Marvel. In 1961 he launched 'The Lighter Side of...,' his signature feature, which gently satirized everyday social situations and often caricatured his own family and the MAD staff. He won the National Cartoonists Society Special Features Award in 1980.
