E. Lockhart
Biography
E. Lockhart is an American novelist born on September 13, 1967. She holds a doctorate in English literature from Columbia University. Her YA novel We Were Liars became a #1 New York Times bestseller, and The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks was a Printz Award honor book and National Book Award finalist.
DC Comics invited Lockhart to create a superhero based on her novel Genuine Fraud, resulting in Whistle: A New Gotham City Hero, a graphic novel about a Jewish teenage activist in Gotham City who gains superpowers. Illustrated by Manuel Preitano, Whistle was published in 2021. Her other novels include Again Again, Genuine Fraud, Fly on the Wall, Dramarama, the Ruby Oliver quartet, and the sequel Family of Liars.
