Description
Captain America confronts the dark reality of the Maker's America by leading the Ultimates in an assault on the White House, which has been privatized and is owned by the powerful businessman Midas. While Giant-Man and Wasp handle security forces, Captain America and Iron Lad breach the Oval Office to confront Midas, who wears a golden Iron Man suit. During the battle, Iron Lad depletes his armor's power to damage Midas' defenses, revealing a shocking secret: Midas has been holding America Chavez captive, using her as a living battery to power his technological empire. The team rescues Chavez as Steve Rogers learns the disturbing alternate history of what happened to America after he was frozen in ice, exploring how commerce and capitalism replaced democracy in this twisted timeline.
