American Son

American Son is a 2009 Amazing Spider-Man storyline in issues #595-599, tying into Marvel's Dark Reign event. With Norman Osborn now running H.A.M.M.E.R., he manipulates Harry Osborn into joining the Dark Avengers by having Lily Hollister (Menace) fake a pregnancy with Harry's child. Norman's plan is to put Harry in a suit of armor as "American Son," a Captain America analogue for his team, then stage Harry's death for public sympathy. Peter Parker infiltrates Avengers Tower to stop Norman and save Harry. The arc culminates in a fight between Harry in the American Son armor and Norman in his Iron Patriot suit, with Spider-Man talking Harry down from killing his father.
