Description
The first issue of the regular ongoing series, distinct from the Giant Sized Special Edition released in September 2025. Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez launch their Batman run with a story emphasizing the Dark Knight's humanity over his legend. On an unusually warm Gotham evening, a mentally regressed Killer Croc escapes from Arkham Towers after exposure to unknown morphotoxins. Jim Gordon, now demoted to beat cop under Commissioner Vandal Savage's regime, calls for backup. Batman investigates Croc's destroyed cell before pursuing him through the city. The new status quo includes Jacob Horgan as mayor, Vandal Savage commanding the GCPD, and the Bat-Family operating from Pennyworth Manor.
