Invincible Ed (2003)

A four-issue limited series from Dark Horse Comics published 2003-2004, written and drawn by animator Ryan Woodward. Each issue carries its own subtitle on the cover, marketed under the Invincible Ed banner.

Ed is a regular Chesterton High student when an alien sociologist named Nod arrives on Earth, sent by the Council of Galaxies to find a human worthy of the power they call the Right. Ed gets the gift by accident, and what looks like invincibility turns out to be a brutally high pain tolerance with no other powers attached. His classmate Lance Lundgrin spends the run trying to claim the role he believes was meant for him. The miniseries was later collected as a 2004 Dark Horse hardcover.
