Dan Abnett
Biography
Dan Abnett is a British comic book writer and novelist born on October 12, 1965, in Rochester, Kent. He studied English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, graduating in 1987. He frequently collaborates with fellow writer Andy Lanning, with the pair known collectively as "DnA."
At Marvel, Abnett and Lanning revitalized the publisher's cosmic line through Annihilation: Nova, Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the crossover events Annihilation: Conquest and War of Kings. Their Guardians of the Galaxy run established the team roster later adapted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. At DC, they relaunched the Legion of Super-Heroes with the limited series Legion Lost (2000) and the ongoing series The Legion.
Abnett is also one of the most prolific writers for Games Workshop's Black Library imprint, with his Warhammer 40,000 novels -- including the Gaunt's Ghosts series, the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies, and Horus Rising -- selling over two million copies. His 2000 AD credits include co-creating the long-running strip Sinister Dexter.
