Harvey Kurtzman
Biography
Harvey Kurtzman was an American cartoonist and editor whose satire shaped modern humor comics. At EC Comics he wrote and edited the acclaimed war titles Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat, then created MAD in 1952 and guided it through its shift from comic book to magazine. After leaving EC he edited the humor magazines Trump, Humbug, and Help! He also wrote the long-running Little Annie Fanny strip for Playboy with artist Will Elder, and later taught cartooning at the School of Visual Arts.
