Biography
Japanese manga writer born June 19, 1941 in Miyakonōjō, Miyazaki Prefecture. He began as a screenwriter for Toei before transitioning to manga. He is best known for Tsuribaka Nisshi, a fishing comedy he co-created with artist Kenichi Kitami, and has won both the Shogakukan Manga Award and the Kodansha Manga Award.
