Biography
Japanese manga artist born in Tokyo in 1953 who specializes in action and fighting series. Kurumada debuted in 1974 and achieved early success with Ring ni Kakero before creating Saint Seiya in 1986, a series combining Greek mythology with martial arts that sold over 35 million volumes. The Saint Seiya anime was broadcast in more than 80 countries, making Kurumada one of the most internationally recognized manga artists of his era.
