The Trial of Jean Grey

The Trial of Jean Grey is a 2014 Marvel crossover by Brian Michael Bendis running through All-New X-Men #22-24 and Guardians of the Galaxy #11-13, the first crossover between the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy. The Shi'ar Empire, led by Gladiator, abducts the time-displaced teenage Jean Grey to put her on trial for the planetary-scale crimes her older self committed as the Phoenix. The Guardians and the young X-Men pursue them into space. During the confrontation with the Imperial Guard, Jean manifests new powers her older self never possessed, ultimately convincing the Shi'ar she cannot be held accountable. The crossover also planted the seeds of the romance between Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde.
