Challenge of the Weather Wizard! / Meet Kid Flash!

Two stories mark significant arrivals. The lead pits the Flash against Clyde Mardon, the Weather Wizard, a crook who engineers a wand capable of controlling atmospheric conditions. The backup introduces Wally West, nephew of Barry's girlfriend Iris, who gains super-speed when a freak duplicate of the original accident douses him in the same chemicals while lightning strikes. Taking the name Kid Flash, Wally dons a shrunken version of Barry's costume and begins his career as a sidekick and ally. Written by John Broome, art by Carmine Infantino.
