Captain Atom
Description
A DC superhero with quantum-energy-based powers. Originally a Charlton Comics property created by Joe Gill and Steve Ditko in 1960, then revived by DC after the 1985 acquisition. In his post-Crisis incarnation, Nathaniel Adam is a former U.S. Air Force pilot framed for a crime he did not commit and used as a test subject for a top-secret weapons program, his body sheathed in a layer of alien alloy that grants him flight, super-strength, near-invulnerability, and control over a vast reserve of quantum energy. Captain Atom has served on the Justice League and as one of DC's most visible bridges between the U.S. military and the wider superhero community.
